IP Leak Detection
An IP leak occurs when your real IP address is exposed to websites despite using a proxy. This defeats the purpose of account isolation. Here's how to detect and fix leaks.
Types of IP Leaks
- WebRTC leak — The most common. WebRTC bypasses proxies to establish peer connections.
- DNS leak — DNS queries go to your ISP's DNS server instead of the proxy's DNS.
- IPv6 leak — Your IPv6 address is exposed even when your IPv4 is hidden.
Testing for Leaks
After launching a profile, visit these sites inside the profile:
- browserleaks.com — Comprehensive leak test.
- ipleak.net — IP, DNS, and WebRTC test.
- dnsleaktest.com — DNS-specific test.
The IP shown should be your proxy's IP, not your real IP. All DNS servers shown should be from the proxy's network, not your ISP.
Fixing WebRTC Leaks
In the profile editor → Advanced tab → WebRTC → set to Disabled. This is the most secure option. If you need WebRTC (e.g., for video calls), set it to Fake IP to use the proxy's IP.
Fixing DNS Leaks
MeetLogin routes DNS through the proxy by default. If you see a DNS leak, ensure your proxy supports DNS forwarding (SOCKS5 proxies handle this best). Switch from HTTP to SOCKS5 if you're experiencing DNS leaks.
